How to use Reporting and Analytics
Framework:
A step-by-step approach to understanding and
acting on the Victorian government’s “Reporting
and Analytics framework” (available from
http://www.enterprisesolutions.vic.gov.au/busine
ss-systems/reporting-and-analytics/):
Step 1: Discuss the capability model internally and
carry-out a self-assessment using the “As-isAnalysis Tool”; Identify which activities are
currently being carried-out
Step 2: Plan a step-change of three steps with the
intent that the first step will be complete by
December 2014. Do this in the “As-is-Analysis
Tool”, then in the “Plan-on-a-Page”.
Step 3: Use the Tools and Techniques (which will
be provided to complement this framework) and
participate in the future Community of Practice to
implement the step-change.
Step 4: Maintain connection with the future
Community of Practice to implement further stepchanges.

Consider what information could be gleaned from other
departments and the Community of Practice.
Use other materials that support the “Reporting and
Analytics Framework” such as a sample implementation
plan.
