At the Institute of Medical Microbiology and Hospital Hygiene in cooperation with the
Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI) in Braunschweig, a member of the HelmholtzAssociation of German Research Centers, the position of a
W2-Professor for Molecular Microbiology
(5 years / Tenure Track)
is to be filled at the earliest possible time point.
We are seeking an internationally renowned candidate (MD, PhD) working on clinically
relevant human infectious diseases. The successful candidate will actively contribute to the
research focus „Immunology and Molecular Medicine of Inflammation“ of the Medical Faculty
and is expected to participate in its collaborative research projects. This professorship shall
strengthen the cooperation between the Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg and the
Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research.
Appointment requirements are the „Habilitation“ or equivalent scientific achievements and a
degree in Medicine or Natural Sciences. Candidates with a board certification in Medical
Microbiology, Virology and Infection Epidemiology can participate in the clinical duties and
diagnostic of the institute.
The duties connected with the professorship include an active participation in the courses of
the Medical Faculty.
