Girls Volleyball:
Congratulations to the girls volleyball team for an amazing season. The girls placed 6th in the district and should
be very pleased with their effort. These girls showed great dedication to the team by always coming to
practices and games and always trying their best. A big thank you to Jamie Schwingenschloegl for coaching the
girls this year. They all learned an incredible amount of skill that should carry them through their years of high
school and even post secondary volleyball. Congratulations girls!

Food Bank:
Mrs. Toupin and Mrs. Whitelock’s classes are collecting non-perishable food items this month for the Food Bank.
We thank you in advance for your contributions.
Christmas Concert –Win Front Row Seats:
The PAC is giving you a chance to win front row seats at the Christmas concert this year. Tickets will be sold
next week after school in the library, one dollar each or 10 for five dollars. The draw will take place Friday
December 13th after school. Eight pairs of tickets for each performance are up for grabs, don't miss out.
Recreational Basketball for Grade 6 or 7:
It’s that time of year again: basketball season! If your Grade 6 or 7 son or daughter is interested in playing
basketball for PME this season, tryouts begin next week as follows:
Grades 6-7 Girls: Monday, December 9th, 2:30-3:30.
Grades 6-7 Boys: Wednesday, December 11th, 2:30-3:30.
We ask that all athletes come prepared with gym strip and proper gym shoes. Water is also recommended.
We are anticipating having two recreation-level teams this year (one boy’s and one girl’s), but we will make that
determination after the tryouts. At the time of writing, the schedule has not yet been published, so game days
remain unknown. The season will begin in the New Year, along with regular practices.
If there is enough interest from grade 4 and 5 athletes, we may hold a basketball workshop during a designated
lunch hour in January and February. This would be a place where students have an opportunity to learn and
improve their basketball skills in a non-competitive environment.
Bookfest Congratulations:
Congratulations to Olivia Steed who took 1st place in the Bookfest Contest for best content!
Babysitting Night at PME:
The Grade 7 French Immersion Students (who are raising funds for their upcoming Quebec Exchange Trip) will
be offering Babysitting at PME on December 13th so you can "Get your last minute shopping (or gift wrapping)
done".
Scholastic Book Fair:
There will be a Scholastic Book Fair in the library from December 16th until after the concert on December
19th. There will be French and English books for sale for all levels of readers. The Book Fair will be open
before school, at lunch and after school. You may also do some shopping before and after the school Christmas
Concert. There will be some great stocking stuffers available.
