Job Title:
Extra Care – Catering Assistant

Job Purpose

To assist in the delivery of the catering services within the Extra Care Scheme

To deliver the catering services to a high quality and in line with health and
safety and food safety regulatory requirements
Accountabilities
Resource management

To make the best use of resources to ensure a high level of service to customers
is maintained at all times.
Kitchen and restaurant

To assist in the preparation and cooking of the meals.

To ensure the required checks and inspections are undertaken in line with Food
Safety Regulations and Health and Safety requirements.

To clean the kitchen and associated areas to ensure the cleanliness of the
catering facility is maintained to the highest standard.
Resident liaison/support

To listen and consult with residents enabling their participation in all matters
which affect them.

To respond to all resident enquiries promptly.

To liaise with colleagues on all matters effecting the wellbeing of residents.
Client Liaison

To liaise with clients providing high levels of customer excellence.

Quality control

To ensure all tasks undertaken are performed to the required standard.
General
Your responsibilities are consistent with the terms illustrated in the Staff Handbook
together with other Policies and Procedures published by the business, which are
amended from time to time.
In addition to the specified Job Purpose and Accountabilities all staff are expected:


To undertake any other duties requested by the Line Manager, which are

Knowledge/Skills/Experience
Essential

Ability to work effectively in partnership with other agencies

To be able to work under their own initiative

Skills and experience to undertake the role and accountabilities as set out above
and behaviours which demonstrate Castell Caterings values

A minimum qualification Level 2 in Food Safety
Desirable

Experience of working with older people within a Housing or Care environment

Ability to speak Welsh/other languages
