Position Summary
The Materials Planner is responsible for managing the material/ingredient inventory in terms of inventory value and
ensuring supply to support the production schedule. The Planner is the key liaison between Annie’s and our material
vendors; he/she is responsible for communicating material requirements weekly and resolving any supply/demand
imbalances with the Supplier. Key performance metrics include inventory turns, vendor on-time delivery performance
and material obsolesces. The Planner will work closely with our Procurement team to drive performance improvements
for their suppliers and resolve any Supplier non-conformance to agreed terms. The Planner will also work closely with
the Supply Planning team to align our material and Finished Goods plan.
Key Responsibilities:
 Releasing purchase orders within established guidelines to support production plan.
 Responsible for initiating material blanket orders based on approved suppliers to support Material
Requirements Plan.
 Determine availabilities, requirements and adjust/readjust in accordance to production planning progress.
 Develop and maintains supply outlook based on predefined criteria/categories. Review inventory targets,
potential shortages/obsolescence and communicate information.
 Responsible for calling out of any shelf life or high risk issues on materials
 Accountable to ensure coordination and communication for operations data and production flow with
internal/external customers
 Monitor and analyze supplier metrics. Maintain and improve Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and Operations
Dashboard.
 Identify and Communicate potential shortfalls and issues. Review, identify and resolve shortages with the
appropriate co-packer.
 Strong interpersonal skills requiring the ability to resolve conflicting interests and obtain cooperation.
 Working with MRP requirements to provide vendors with short and long term material needs and rolling
forecast
 Solid multi-tasking and organizational skills. Ability to manage several co-packers at the same time.
 Excellent Excel and general computer skills required
 Issue material disposition for aged/obsolete inventory
 Must be results-oriented and efficient at dealing with multiple priorities in a high pace work environment.
 Routinely interact with IT on MRP system and process improvements.



Requirements:
 Bachelor’s Degree
 College coursework in Supply Chain, Operations Management or Logistics field preferred.
 3 to 5 years of related experience in materials/supply planning
 Analytical and problem solving skills
 Strong communication skills both internally, cross-functional and externally
 Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
 ERP or Advanced Planning System experience a plus
 Project management skills with the ability to prioritize and problem solve for decision making efforts
 Attention to detail performing multi-tasks to see projects/assignments to completion
 Minimal travel required
