Garr M. Jones Scholarship
The Garr M. Jones Scholarship is awarded in
recognition of Garr Jones, a BC employee for
his entire 50+ year career and an international
authority on hydraulics, pump station and
treatment facility design. Garr is co-editor of
three editions of Pumping Station Design—
required reading in the field -- and he has
been involved with hundreds of projects
during the course of his career. Garr has
influenced the proficiency of generations of
engineers, setting standards for professional
practice and technical ingenuity that have had
a lasting impact on the environmental
engineering industry.
In recognition of Garr M. Jones' many
contributions to the environmental profession,
Brown and Caldwell offers a $5,000
scholarship for University of Washington
students pursuing education and careers
within the environmental engineering field and
with a specific interest in drinking water and
wastewater hydraulics, conveyance,
treatment, process control, energy recovery,
or nutrient recovery.
Deadline April 15
U.S. citizen or permanent U.S. resident
Be a full-time University of Washington
student enrolled in his/her Junior or Senior
year or graduate program.
Declared major in civil or environmental
engineering.
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0
scale (or equivalent on a 5.0 scale)
