Fabric: Approximately 4 yards of white or light colored (hand-dyed or commercial) tightly
woven, smooth fabric. Fabric can be cotton, rayon, silk, or any fabric content. (The instructor
will be using cotton fabric.) Fabrics do not have to be PFD (Prepared for Dyeing) unless you
plan to dye them later. You can bring a couple hand-dyed fabrics that seem lack luster, dull,
faded, etc. (Of course don’t expect miracles. It is hard to turn all frogs into princes.) We will
use mostly fat quarters, but also bring a couple ½ yard pieces.
(Bring only if you own.) A few Textures/Stamps/Mark Making Tools such as foam stamps
with bold designs, deeply etched rubber stamps, wood block textile stamps, rubbing plates,
bubble wrap, sponges, straw or woven place mats, textured bath mats, textured silicone hot
pads, textured fun foam, jar lids, bottle caps, craft sticks, old credit cards, leaves/ferns (real
or plastic), anything with at least a ¼ inch of texture, or any item you think can be used as a
stamp or a rubbing tool to make marks on fabric. Do not buy anything. Paint will get on
these items. The instructor will bring her extensive supply of stamps and texture tools.

Sample and Touch-up Kit for a reasonable cost.) You will need one, but two is more
