If there isn't enough time for a full third, the time will be adjusted by the timekeeper. The clock will revert to
runtime clock at the 10 min mark of the 3rd period if required to ensure the game is done in 120 min.
Example, at approximately the 10 minute mark of the 3rd period, if there is 8 minutes left in the 120 minute (112 minutes expired) slot then the
scorekeeper will adjust the game clock to read 8min and runtime will begin. This precaution is to be utilized as a last resort and the ref will
communicate this change to the coaches.
