Library collection development budget allocation
The library acquisition budget for Art supports three majors in the Art and Art History program:
Art Practice, History of Art, and Art Theory and Criticism. The budget allocation varies from year to year. The 2014-2015 allocation for Art is $5492.87. The annual budget allocation for Art is primarily determined by statistics, such as, number of students in the Art program, number of
Art reference questions, circulation of Art related library materials, and the number of library instruction for Art classes.
II.
Library resources
The library collection (print and electronic) has 9659 titles on Art books and videos, 15 subscription databases on Art and Art-related interdisciplinary topics, and 982 journal titles listed under Art, Architecture, and Applied Arts. Additional resources outside the library collection are accessible thru LINK+ and ILLiad, the library’s Inter-library loan services. Reference
There are 155 titles in reference and electronic reference. Some of the Art reference titles on

Books on Art and Art History in the library are located on second floor stack, and third floor oversize, in the 700-779 Dewey classification. Print books in the library (5245 titles), as well as those in Datasafe (1147 titles) can be found in Albert, the online library catalog. Electronic books on Art (1995 titles) are mostly accessible via the ebrary Academic Complete Collection.

Recommendations

Library instruction on information literacy
The purpose of library instruction sessions on information literacy is to help students continue to strengthen their "Information and Evaluation Research Practices" skills and use library catalogs and databases to find relevant materials for their research. Since this course will serve the Writing in the Discipline designation, library instruction is required. The librarian did not have a chance to conduct a library session when the experimental course was offered during

fall 2014. The professor should contact the Art subject librarian to schedule a library session in the future.
 Additional library resources needed
The required textbook, Women, Art and Society / Whitney Chadwick, is available in the library.
The library has almost all the books on the reading list. The professor is encouraged to recommend resources for the library's future purchases.
