The aim of this module is to introduce students to the scientific study of mental
processes. On successful completion of the module students will have been
introduced to the basic concepts and findings underlining human thought and action.
A particular emphasis will be placed on the application of cognitive psychology to
everyday settings. This course lays the groundwork for the advanced cognitive and
neuropsychology courses in the following years.
