Nitrous Oxide and Oxygen Conscious Sedation Workshop
14 contact hours (14 Continuing Education Credits)
Dentist/ Dental Hygienists $500
Dental Assistants must be registered with a Dentist $300
This program offers instruction in all aspects of inhalation analgesia including lectures and hands on clinical applications.
Participants will learn various techniques and protocols designed to achieve certification in N2O/O2 sedation administration
or monitoring from their state’s dental board. The structure of the program follows the ADA’s Guidelines for Teaching the
Comprehensive Control of Pain and Anxiety in Dentistry (2007). The two day, 14 hour workshop consists of a pre-workshop
home study booklet including a pre-test preview of the lecture material; lecture material, and clinical experience in the
administration and/or monitoring of inhalation conscious sedation. Upon completion of this workshop, the dental practitioner and dental hygienist will have gained the necessary skills to administer nitrous oxide/oxygen conscious sedation.
The dental assistant will have gained the necessary skills to monitor nitrous oxide/ oxygen conscious sedation.

Local Anesthesia in Dental Hygiene Practice Workshop
14 hours (14 Continuing Education Credits)
Registered Dental Hygienists Only $500
Knowledge of pain control through the successful administration of local anesthetics is crucial to every dental office. While
the principles and techniques that will be presented apply to every dental situation, this workshop is designed specifically
for the dental hygiene practice. The material presented will focus on those aspects that are critical for non-surgical
periodontal treatment. This two day, 14 hour workshop consists of a pre-workshop home study booklet including a
pre-test preview of the lecture material; lecture, and clinical experience in the administration of local anesthetics.
Successful completion of the workshop will qualify the participants to apply with their state’s Dental Board for certification
to administer local anesthesia.
