The intended audience of this seminar is for pharmacists, providing additional knowledge to assist in
their practice of pharmacy and for other non-pharmacist health care professionals. The credit issued
will be 3 hours for each seminar, for a total of 6 live credit contact hours.

Seminar Objectives
Program 1 - Upon completion of this seminar, participants will
be able to:
1. List upcoming legislative issues and their potential effect
pharmacy practice
2. Describe changes in the NYS Controlled Substance Act with
regard to mandatory electronic prescribing and changes in the
syringe and needle regulation
3. Describe the requirements for the dispensing of prescriptions
for controlled substances and the various record keeping
requirements in NY State for dispensing controlled substances
4. Describe the news laws, rules and regulations promulgated in
the last year in NY for controlled drugs and non-controlled
substances
Program 2 - Upon completion of this seminar, participants will
be able to:
1. Define Key Terms relating to Medication Errors
2. Discuss Board of Pharmacy Regulations Pertaining to
Medication Errors
3. Identify Best Practices to Minimize Error Occurrences
4. Describe the Elements of a Civil Action Resulting from
Medication Errors
5. Discuss Historical and Recent Case Law

The Statement of Credit will be submitted electronically to NABP and will indicate hours and CEUs based on the
participant’s attendance and completion rate only for those attendees who sign the attendance list, fill out the
evaluation forms and submit the learning assessment at the conclusion of the seminar. The credits should be
listed on NABP’s website automatically in 60 days.
The Boards of Pharmacy of all 50 states will accept courses presented by an ACPE accredited organization for
credit toward license renewal.
Alpha Zeta Omega National Pharmaceutical Fraternity New York Alumni Chapter is on probation as an
accredited provider of continuing pharmacy education by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy
Education.
