The Richardson Spouses' Club Annual Country Fair
WELCOME! The 2015 Richardson Spouses’ Club Country Fair will be held Saturday, November 7, 2015, at
the Buckner Physical Fitness Center (BPFC). We anticipate this year's event to be as fabulous as in years past.
We continue to feature some of the best craftsmen and artisans in Alaska. Many of you are old friends and
some of you are joining us for the first time - our welcome and thanks to all of you!
To assist in your pre-fair planning, please review the following information; we have reminders as well as new
information. There will also be additional vendor handouts distributed upon vendor check-in. If you have
questions or issues of concern, please contact Amanda Collier at (860)877-1964. Our email address is
president@richardsonsousesclub.com.
Again, welcome and thank you for helping us make the Richardson Spouses’ (RSC) Country Fair the best arts
and crafts show in South Central Alaska! We'll see you November 7, 2015!
POST ENTRY INFORMATION
All RSC Country Fair traffic will utilize the JBER-Richardson Gate (off the Glenn Highway) entrance. If you
indicated on your registration form that you do not have a DOD ID card, your name will be on a special list for
vendors. You will proceed to the gate where you will be sent to the checkpoint area. There, you will be asked
to show your driver’s license, vehicle registration, and proof of insurance. Your vehicle will be inspected. If
you have not given us the full name as it is on your Driver’s license, drivers license number and state of issue,
and either last 4 digits of your SSN or your full birth date of each person entering post for your booth, please do
so ASAP so we can get them on the list and make entering easier for you that day. This is subject to change and
we ensure you of such notifications in a timely manner.
** Please allow extra time to get processed through security**
We thank everyone in advance for their understanding and patience concerning matters of security. Public
Safety and Force Protection is our obvious number one concern, and our JBER ABW and Security Forces have
been overwhelmingly supportive of this event. If for any reason the Fair must be cancelled due to security
concerns, you will be immediately notified and your money will be refunded, but ONLY if the Fair is
cancelled. If you have any questions concerning post entry, please contact Amanda.
CHECK IN AND SET UP FOR VENDORS
PARKING
From the checkpoint area, follow the road that will be designated for vendors. The Buckner Physical Fitness
Center (BPFC) is on the right, corner of D and 6th Street.
You may park in front of BPFC doors during active loading and unloading. This area will be patrolled to
keep the fire lanes open and the handicapped parking free for those who truly need it. If you need a special spot
due to a medical condition, please let us know and we will accommodate you. Vendors are asked to park in the
parking area across the street from the BPFC during the Fair.
There will be a group of volunteers to assist you with your unloading Friday and reloading on Saturday.
All vendors must register on November 7th, 2015 at the Richardson Spouses’ Club (RSC) Welcome Booth,
located at the entrance of the gymnasium. You will receive a vendor packet prior to unloading or setting up
your booth.
**The BPFC will be open and available for vendors to begin setting up on Friday, November 6th from
3:00– 6 pm and Saturday, November 7th morning at 7:30- 9:00 am. **
Please be completed with tear down on Saturday, November 7th, by 7:00 pm.
BOOTHS
All booth spaces are 10’ x 10’. You are responsible for bringing your own table(s) and chairs. We will make
every effort to ensure that each space is exactly these dimensions, and in consideration of your neighbors,
please do not infringe upon someone else's space unless there is an agreement between you. If you have a wall
space, you may not hang any items on the walls; you may however "make" your own wall at your own
expense. The "wall" must be inside your 10’x10’ space. You must keep your area clean. We do not have
trashcans or liners available; therefore remember to bring your own. There will be dumpsters available for your
end of day clean up. In consideration of others, you will need to remain set up until 5 p.m.
ELECTRICITY
If you are receiving electricity, you must bring a heavy-duty (12 or 14 gauge) extension cord, no longer than 50
ft in length. Our Fire Marshall will be reviewing the electrical use from a safety standpoint the day of the Fair.
PUBLICITY
We began our mainline advertising in September, with displays in the Anchorage Daily News. Flyers will be
distributed throughout the surrounding communities. There will also be radio spots, additional newspaper ads,
and message boards in Anchorage, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Eagle River, and the Mat-Su Valley.
Admission to the RSC Country Fair is free.
REFRESHMENTS
Continental breakfast will be provided to the vendors on Saturday, November 7th, from 7:30 – 9:00am.
The RSC Country Fair will feature our fabulous Family Readiness Groups (FRG) Food Court, with many
delicious food choices, available for purchase.
