Special Projects and Tasks
Lead the project of the first "National census for SMEs in Egypt (2009-2011)
Led the project of the first national census of SMEs in Egypt in cooperation
with CBE and CAPMAS, recognizing the important role of SMEs in
economic development and employment. The CBE led in December 2008 an
initiative, as an integral part of the second phase of the banking sector
reform to enhance SMEs access to finance and the national census was the
corner stone of this initiative.
Egyptian Banking Institute International Accreditation (2006-2008)
Led a group of experts in the Egyptian Banking Institute (EBI) and
BEARING point consultants to achieve international accreditation. Now,
EBI is given the distinction of being the first ACCET accredited banking
and financial training institute in Egypt and the region. This distinctive
advantage allows EBI to satisfy professional certification and development
qualifications for continuing education units for all its training courses as
well as credit hours of its certificates.
Initiative in Financial Education (2005)

To spread financial education and inclusion among the Egyptian Youth, in
cooperation with Egyptian Banking institute, OECD and CYFI.
Organizing Seminars and Conferences
Organized and participated in more than 80 conferences, symposiums and
workshops in cooperation with many scientific and development institutions
and organizations locally, regionally and globally, such as: World Bank, The
Bank of England, Federal Reserve Bank of New York, IMF, USAID, FSVC,
IFC, CIDA, KFW, GIZ, African Development Bank, University of Wisconsin,
University of Chicago, ECB, UNDP in addition to other international
organizations.
Academic Tasks
A. Teaching
Teaching different courses in “Microeconomics", “Money and Banking”,
“International Finance” and “Corporate Governance” to Undergraduate and
Post-Graduate Students at Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo
University and the American University in Cairo.
B. Supervise PhDs and Masters Degrees
Supervised a number of PhDs and Masters thesis for graduate students.
