A. Personal Statement

My research interest is to explore strategies for neuroprotection / therapy in various forms of brain injuries/ degeneration.

Ongoing studies focus on:

1.

Molecular mechanism and time course of neuronal death and survival (apoptosis, autophagy, neurogenesis..etc) following brain injury, repairing, neuroregeneration, and plasticity

2.

Neuron-glia interactions, neuroinflammation and oxidative stress

3.

Biomarkers (proteins and microRNAs) in human cerebrospinal fluid in brain injury and infection

4.

Glioma microenvironment
