CLASS TITLE: TOXICOLOGIST II - SES
ALLOCATION FACTOR(S)
This is work coordinating the development and modification of analytical methods in clinical chemistry
and toxicology.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

Oversees routine assays and special projects.
Performs difficult clinical chemistry or toxicology assays.
Gathers and evaluates data to determine biological norm values for animals.
Orders reagents, instrumentation and other supplies.
Confers with staff veterinarians concerning cases involving poison or clinical chemistry.
Performs related work as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of the terminology, principles and techniques used in the field of toxicology.
Knowledge of the procedures, techniques and equipment used in laboratory testing and
analysis.
Knowledge of the methods of data collection.
Skill in the use of scientific laboratory equipment.
Ability to collect, record and analyze scientific data relating to the field of toxicology.
Ability to isolate, identify and analyze toxic materials, viruses and other chemicals in blood
samples.
Ability to perform quantitative analysis of scientific data.
