Position: Programs Manager (1 FTE)
OACC builds vibrant communities through Asian and Pacific Islander American (APIA) arts and culture programs
that foster intergenerational and cross-cultural dialogue, cultural identity, collaborations, and social justice. The
Programs Manager will manage and coordinate the OACC Programs Department under the supervision of the
Executive Director.
Job Responsibilities:
• Coordinate, manage, and maintain all OACC Programs which includes Festivals, School Tour and Education
Outreach, Community Collaborations, Exhibits, Artist in Residence, Classes/Workshops, and Oakland Chinatown
Oral History Project.
• Develop and Coordinate marketing and outreach for OACC Programs
• Help build OACC's growing database (community leaders, donors, students, educators, artists, etc.) = allow OACC
to become a resource hub of community contacts.
• Develop and nurture more cross-cultural partnerships within OACC's artists.
• Support in Grants Management and Grant writing.
• Digital archiving of OACC's events, projects, performances, installations and make them accessible on the
website.
• Maintain and building of the infrastructure/systems of the OACC Programs department
• Supervise interns/volunteers
Qualifications:
• Ability to effectively communicate in friendly and positive manner with internal and external constituents
• Connected to the Oakland and East Bay community (artists, businesses and organizations)
• Strong event planning background
• Self-starter to develop new leads, detail-oriented, organized, analytic and self-motivated
• Culturally sensitive/competent to the Asian and Pacific Islander population
• Cantonese speaker preferred however not essential.
• Flexibility of working some weeknights and some weekend days
• Personable and professional with clients, parents and other staff.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail, including planning and setting priorities
• Excellent time management and multitasking skills required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Some experience with Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop.
