HALLOWEEN ACTIVITIES - Greenacres would like to invite students to celebrate at school within the following guidelines:

Costumes must comply with Greenacres’ guidelines for “Appropriate Dress” (Clothing should cover all
underwear, shorts (or skirts) should not be tight “biking” type and should be no shorter than about 3" above the knee. No tank
tops, crop tops showing bare midriffs, low necklines, etc. Clothing should not display inappropriate printed messages or
pictures.)



No weapons of any kind (guns, knives, etc.) even if toys or plastic

No extreme make-up and no masks for any students
Students of all K-1 classes: May come to school in costume. Classes within the Greenacres building will parade through classrooms and the gym at
approximately 8:30 a.m., and have parties in their classrooms prior to the Kindergarten students being dismissed at 11:50 a.m. The 1st Grade
students in these classes should plan to change to regular clothing after the party is over. The remainder of the day will be instruction time. (ISU
K-1 classes will not have a parade. Parents may contact ISU K-1 teachers for classroom party information.)
Students of all other classes: The first part of the day will be instruction time. Students may change into costume at lunch recess. Parents, please
plan costumes that are simple enough that students do not need to leave school to change into or out of them, or that require adult assistance. If
you are interested in knowing the time your child’s class will be having a Halloween party, please check directly with your child’s teacher.
Costumes for adults at school: Because of safety and security issues, we ask that adults NOT wear costumes or masks when they visit the school on
Halloween or at any other time. All adults must be identifiable and should check in at the office when they enter the school.
Nov. 1 – FALL PICTURE RE-TAKE DAY – For re-takes of unsatisfactory Fall Pictures, for students who were absent on Fall Picture Day, and for any
new students who have registered since Sept. 20 th. Be sure to let your child’s teacher know if retakes are needed.
Nov. 6 – ELECTION DAY

ANIMALS / PETS AT SCHOOL: School District 25 adopted a policy during the summer that restricts any animals or pets of any kind in the schools. We regret
that students may no longer have their family pets (dogs, cats, reptiles, birds, fish, spiders, etc.) brought to school for show and tell. Service animals are
now required to have a permit approved by the school district in order to enter the schools.
