Primary Function Lead engineers in effective execution of design & product development projects. Train
Roles &
Responsibilities and mentor engineers in core manufacturing perspectives such as sheet metal, casting, and plastics etc., to enable them to be more effective in design. Focus and contribute in manufacturability, prototyping and production related issues for product development projects.
• Collaborate and work directly with engineers and project managers in design projects
• Help find and prioritize issues related to manufacturing, prototyping, GD&T etc.
• Train and mentor new design engineers to impart manufacturing domain skills and best practices in sheet metal, casting, plastics, GD&T etc.
• Participate in development of new product concepts and technical solutions from manufacturing perspective
Skills / Job
Requirements
• Build and improve internal design & engineering productivity tools and processes
• Diploma or B.E Degree in Mechanical, Production, Tool Design or related technical field (or equivalent)
• Extensive experience (at least 6+ years) in one or more of core manufacturing areas – Sheet Metal, Casting, Plastics etc.
• Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T)
• Experience in one or more of CAD tools such as Pro/ENGINEER, SolidWorks,
CATIA etc. is an added advantage
• Ability to get things done quickly and of high quality
• Willingness to take on new challenges and solve unfamiliar problems
• Good interpersonal and team working skills
