LARAMIE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT ONE—BULLYING BEHAVIOR—GUIDELINES & CONSEQUENCES
Prevention and Education—the district utilizes the Olweus Bully Prevention Program in grades k-8 and Safe School Ambassadors in grades 9-12. Staff and students are
trained and educated to identify and to report bullying to an adult.
Bullying is when someone repeatedly and on purpose says or does mean or hurtful things to another person who has a hard time defending him or herself.
The four anti-bullying rules that Laramie County School District grades k-8 have implemented are: 1) We will not bully others. 2) We will try to help students who are
bullied. 3) We will try to include students who are left out. 4) If we know that somebody is being bullied, we will tell an adult at school and an adult at home.
Staff use “On-the-Spot Interventions” when they see or hear bullying. They are to 1) Stop the bullying. 2) Support the student who has been bullied. 3) Name the
bullying behavior and refer to school rules. 4) Engage the bystanders. 5) Impose immediate and appropriate consequences. 6) Take steps to ensure the bullied
student will be protected from future bullying.
