SALE OF BEEF BREEDING CATTLE
A useful show of 28 outfits today with heifers through to older cows and all experiencing a
very fast trade that left all vendors well satisfied with their returns. There exists, despite
recent trends elsewhere, strong demand for breeding cattle at Wigton and many purchasers
leaving empty handed. Top today £2550 for a Blue Cross heifer and 2month steer calf from
Ed Studholme. Breeding Bulls also finding a useful level to £2300 for a smart young Limousin
from M/S Miller, Allerby Hall

demand for a super selection of calves. 28 forward today and all types easily catered for
with buyers for all and a strong trade that topped at £435 for 6week old Blue Bulls and
Heifers from M/s Wright, Tarnrigg Moor, Oulton. Fresh calves also attracting keen interest
to £260 for Blue heifers from Messrs GN Hetherinton, Crookdake House, Wigton.
