HOW CREW WORKS

CREW is a Scottish Government funded partnership between the James Hutton Institute and

Scottish Universities to deliver accessible research and expert opinion to support the development and implementation of water policy in Scotland.

Staff from the Scottish Government, SEPA, SNH and Scottish Water can request CREW to undertake work. The service is free at the point of the user. Requests can be for work with very short time scales via our call down service , through to larger scale projects of a year or more in duration via our themes. Themes are structured around the main water policy areas in Scotland and include River Basin Management Planning, Flood Risk Management and the Hydro Nation Strategy. Requests for call down can be made at any time of year and project requests should be made via theme networks. Requests for both routes should be made via the coordinating point of contact in your organisation.
