have entered into this Contract in the following:
I. Purpose of Contract
1. The purpose of this Contract is to specify the terms and conditions of the compensation of
study expenses.
2. Upon entry into and performance of the Contract, the conditions of and procedure for the
compensation of the study expenses of formal education established by the Council of the
University (hereinafter the Conditions of Compensation of Study Expenses) available online
at www.ut.ee/6038 shall be observed.
II. Duties and Obligations of Parties
3. The University agrees to:
3.1. allow the Student to complete the Bachelor`s Studies in .......... curriculum in the
Faculty of Theology in regular studies, provided the Student has paid the tuition fee.
3.2 submit to the Student the invoice for the tuition fees for fall semester and spring
semester in accordance with the Conditions of Compensation of Study Expenses.
4. The Student agrees to:
4.1. complete the .......... curriculum in the Faculty of Theology in Bachelor`s Studies.
4.2. pay the tuition fee for every semester in accordance with the Conditions of
Compensation of Study Expenses. The Student will pay the tuition fee for 2013/14
academic year by no later than 15 October in the fall semester and by 15 March in the
spring semester. If the Student pays the tuition fee in a lump sum for the entire
academic year, the due date of the tuition fee is 15 October for 2013/14 academic year.
4.3 in the event of failure to pay the fee by the due date, pay the late interest in
accordance with the procedure provided for in the Conditions of Compensation of
Study Expenses
4.4. observe the Articles of Association, Study Regulations, Conditions of
Compensation of Study Expenses and other internal legal instruments of the
University of Tartu.
III. Rights of Parties
5. The University has the right to:
5.1. demand that the tuition fee be paid by the due date and, in the event of failure to
do so, charge late interest;
5.2. change the amount of the tuition fee unilaterally before the start of each academic
year in accordance with the Universities Act, publishing the respective information no
later than 4 months before the start of the autumn semester;
5.3. amend the Conditions of Compensation of Study Expenses by a decision of the
Council of the University.
5.4. establish the organisation of studies;
6. The Student has the right to:
6.1. participate in studies and take examinations, provided the tuition fee has been
paid;
6.2. exercise other rights granted to the Student in the Study Regulations, Conditions
of Compensation of Study Expenses and other legal instruments of the University.
IV. Period of Study
7. The nominal period of study under the curriculum is one year. The Student’s standard
period of study will end on ...........
V. Tuition fee
8. The tuition fee in 2013/2014. academic year is 0 Euros (..................... Euros .....................
Cents) per semester or 0 Euros (..................... Euros ..................... Cents) per credit point.
9. In full-time studies the Student will pay tuition fee per semester. In part-time studies the
Student will pay for the tuition as a semester fee or based on the credit point price. If a
Student who wishes to study part-time would prefer to pay the tuition fee based on the credit
point price, the Student must inform the University thereof by 20 September in the fall
semester and 20 February in the spring semester. In the 2013/14 academic year the Student
will pay the tuition fee per semester.
10. The student will pay the tuition fee in one part.
11. While the Student is registered as studying abroad or as being on academic leave or during
extension of studies the Student will pay the tuition fee in accordance with the Conditions of
Compensation of Study Expenses.
VI. Termination of Contract
12. The Contract will terminate as of the deletion of the Student from the matriculation
register on the grounds set out in the Study Regulations.
13. The Student has the right to terminate the Contract at any time.
14. The University will inform of the termination of the Contract in a form that can be
reproduced in writing. The Student will inform of the termination of the Contract in writing.
15. Upon expiry of the Contract, the Student will pay the tuition fee for the entire ongoing
semester, except in the events specified in the Conditions of Compensation of Study
Expenses. If the Student of the first semester is deleted from the matriculation register before
31 October, then the Student will pay 20 percent of the tuition fee of the semester. If from the
second semester the Student relinquishes the study place before the due date of the tuition fee
then the Student has no obligation to pay the tuition fee. If the Student relinquishes the study
place after the due date then the Student will pay the tuition fee for the ongoing semester.
VII. Final Provisions
16. The Contract will enter into force as of its signing.
17. Disputes arising from the Contract are subject to resolution by way of negotiations in
accordance with the procedure provided for in the legislation of the Republic of Estonia.
18. This Contract has been set out on three (3) pages in two (2) counterparts of equal legal
force, one (1) copy for the University and the other for the Student.
