Fall Yoga & Pilates Retreat at Shanti October 16-18 2009
The retreat will provide a relaxing, harmonious atmosphere away from the stress and clatter of
daily life; allowing participants an opportunity to practice Kripalu Yoga, Meditation and Pilates in a
rejuvenating environment free from worldly distractions. Shanti Yoga Retreat
www.shantiretreat.ca/index.html is located in the beautiful Prince Edward County, two and half
hours east of Toronto.
As retreat leader, Guylaine will use her extensive knowledge of Kripalu Yoga and Pilates to
ensure that each participant receives a unique, high quality experience. Space is limited, so act
now to secure your spot.
Guylaine Lanthier has been studying Yoga since 1997. In 2003 she completed the Kripalu Yoga
Teacher certification and in 2007 she completed the Professional Level Certification. She
has been teaching in Belleville and offering Kripalu Yoga Retreats at Shanti since 2004.
Guylaine has over 20 years of teaching experience. She is a graduate of the Dance program at
York University and has a Diploma from Ryerson. While teaching dance she pursued a career in
the Fitness Industry as a Group Fitness Instructor (Can-Fit-Pro and ACE Certified). She is also a
Can-Fit-Pro Certified Personal Trainer, Integrated Movement Therapist and Pilates Instructor
(Mat & Reformer).
Guylaine offers many modifications so participants can adapt the class to suit the needs of their
body. Her ability to provide modifications, cues, and imagery ensures that students achieve the
postures to the best of their abilities. Guylaine's style of teaching focuses on the flow of breath
and movement. Moving with awareness and surrender with a non-judgmental approach. Kripalu
Yoga (A Yoga of Consciousness) is rooted in deep inner stillness that arrives when the mind is at
peace, the body is free of stress, and the emotions are in harmony with the needs of the moment.
Sean Lush will be making a presentation on Ayurvedic Healing. Sean has been practicing yoga
for 18 years. He completed his formal yoga teacher training with The Canadian Ayurveda Institute
and Ananda Yoga Spa in 2005. Sean is a registered yoga teacher, RYT, with Yoga Alliance. He
is currently studying Ayurvedic Healing with the American Institute of Vedic Studies and working
on a Bachelor of Science Degree. Some of Sean’s interests include medical and life sciences,
traditional health systems, and ethnic cuisine.

12:00 PM -1:00 PM Pilates (multi-level)

All classes are optional, feel free to create your own schedule to meet your needs.
Shanti is a non-alcoholic environment.
Cost
Early Bird Special: $300.00 (gst included), full payment is required by August 17, 2009.
Cost after August 17, 2009 is $325.00 (gst included).
Cost includes all classes, meals and shared accommodations (2 or 4 people per room). There is
an extra cost for Thai Massage.
Cancellation Policy:
No refund will be given after October 1, 2009. If you cancel prior to October 1, 2009 you will be
refunded $100.00. Health questionnaire and waiver must be received by October 1, 2009. These
will be sent to you at a later date. A minimum number of participants are required.
