Seeking: Volunteer Tennis Instructor for
Afterschool Program
SHINE is a community school program at Barnes Elementary
School, one of the largest elementary schools in the Beaverton
(Oregon) School District, which offers opportunities to Barnes
students that they may not otherwise have. SHINE helps kids
succeed in school with on-site homework help and academic
support classes in math, reading, writing and science. We also
offer enrichment classes like tennis and art.
We are seeking volunteer tennis instructors for our fall program.
This fall, programming runs from October 15 - December 14, and
tennis classes are Thursdays and Fridays from 4:00-5:00pm in the
Barnes Elementary School Gym located at 13730 SW Walker Rd.
in Beaverton. Each class will have 12-14 students. Teach one class,
or both. We have tennis equipment and many students eager to
hone their tennis skills!
All of our volunteers complete an Interview and Background
Check before they begin their volunteer service.
