CHAPTER FELLOW’S CHAIR

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

POSITION DESCRIPTION

CHAPTER FELLOW’S CHAIR

The Chapter Fellow’s Chair is appointed by the Chapter President in accordance with the National Bylaws and Chapter Bylaws and is responsible and accountable to the Chapter President, and the Chapter Board of Directors, where applicable, for Chapter Fellow’s activities.

AUTHORITY

The Chapter Fellow’s Chair is empowered and authorized to effectively manage and maintain accurate records of the Chapter's Fellow’s.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Subject to the Chapter By laws, the specific duties and responsibilities of the

Chapter Fellow’s Chair are as follows:

Serve as a member of the Chapter Board of Directors. Attend the monthly Board of Director Meetings. Prior to the monthly meetings, prepare a written report on the status of any Fellow’s Packet being processed, and the status of the annual

Fellow’s night.

Write articles for the chapter newsletters at a minimum of twice a year to encourage members to seek Fellows designation. Provide the criteria and application process.

Review and assess Fellows application package to determine how close a candidate is to meeting the minimum points for Fellows qualifications. Help candidates review alternatives and options to qualify for the Fellows designation.

Receive and evaluate all Fellows applications from the chapter membership for completeness and qualification.

Forward all qualified packages to the SWR Fellows chair or sign recommendation letter and get a second endorsement from the chapter

President, then forward package to National Office.

As of August 3 rd , 2004

If the chapter sponsors a Special Recognition Night for Fellows dinner meeting; contact all chapter Fellows in good standing and invite them to the special event.

In addition to recognizing the attendees, dinner or other token gift may be provided.

During the month of May, schedule a transition meeting for the outgoing and incoming Chapter Fellow’s Chair to arrange an effective transfer of responsibilities.

At the June (year ending) meeting of the Board of Directors, submit a summary report of the affairs of the Chapter Fellow’s Chair.

On or before July 1 st , the Chapter Fellow’s Chair will deliver to the successor in office all books, records, data, reports, and any other Association Property for which the Chairperson is responsible.
