SAMPLE PATHWAY: HABITAT MANAGEMENT
Human activity has had a profound effect on the range and diversity of habitats on Earth.
This pathway aims to investigate how the fundamental resources of our natural habitats
might be understood and appropriately managed. The role of soils as a major source and
sink for the carbon of greenhouse gases, a filter for waste materials and source of water
and nutrients for plants is explored. The intimate relationship between soils and plant
diversity are also considered as well as the economics and management of the
environment. Students must select Plant Science, Economics and Soil Science in Part 1.
