2015 CONSERVATION GRANT GUIDELINES
The Piedmont Soil and Water District’s Conservation Grants program provides financial assistance to teachers,
community leaders and organizations in implementing an environmental or conservation education project in
Amelia, Nottoway or Prince Edward Counties.
AVAILABLE TO: Teachers, 4-H Club Leaders, FFA Advisors, Ecology Club
Sponsors, Boy and Girl Scout troops, Arbor Day Coordinators, and other school or
community groups planning a conservation education project. The project or event
must be located or held in Amelia, Nottoway or Prince Edward Counties.
AMOUNT :
A maximum of $250 per applicant.
WHEN:
Application Deadline - February 2, 2015.
Applicants will be notified by February 28, 2015.
Final grant report due 90 days after receipt of funds.
IDEAS:
Development of outdoor classrooms and nature trails; purchase of
materials and equipment for special displays and exhibits, including information
booths at community events; water quality monitoring activities; demonstration sites;
recycling projects; Arbor Day/Earth Day observances; habitat restoration projects.
The committee will NOT fund textbooks, travel or beautification projects.
