Essay on EM Spectrum
The electromagnetic spectrum is divided
into regions based upon how long the waves
are. The E stands for the electric wave
part. The M stands for the magnetic wave
part. One way that the EM spectrum affects
people is we use the x-rays in doctor’s
offices. I am using a Physics textbook, the
Internet, and finally information I got from
a scientist named Ross to help me write this
essay.
The name of the different types of waves
are: x-ray, ultraviolet, radiation, gamma
rays, visible light waves, microwaves, radio
waves, and infrared waves. The length of the
waves are: microwave 1mm to 30cm, infrared
waves 1mm to 0.000000001m, visible light
waves 400nm to 700nm, TV waves and radio
waves are bigger than 30 cm, and ultraviolet
radiation waves 400 to 700nm.
The types of wave that are dangerous to
humans are x-ray because if you take to much
it hurts you, gamma waves because they give
off radiation, and Ultraviolet radiation
because it can give a sun burn.
The type of wave a dog can see is visible
light waves and infrared light waves.
Insects see ultraviolet.
The type of waves people in Amber’s lab
is studying are called microwave.
The types of waves that distract them are
infrared and visible.
The way they get rid of the unwanted
waves is to go far up high and use filters.
What the CMB waves help scientists to learn
about is to see what the universe looked
like first.
To wrap up my essay, you should know that
millions of years ago it had a big bang
before the universe was very small and when
the big bang happen the universe expand.
