The Visual Arts minor has two different tracks, Studio or Digital, although students have the option to combine the two tracks
for a more diverse experience. A student’s program of study must be approved by either the Director of the Visual Arts Program
(Studio courses) or the Photography Coordinator (Digital courses), and the minor must be declared by the end of the sophomore
year.

One (1) History of Art course at any level. The course should be related to the student’s visual arts field of interest.

Restrictions:
Two visual arts courses at MICA may count towards the minor, with advance approval of the appropriate advisor, and as long as
they are not offered at JHU. One independent study course in the visual arts may count towards the minor. One visual arts
course at a JHU-affiliated study abroad program may be counted towards the minor with, advance approval of the appropriate
advisor.
Program requirements may not be taken Satisfactory / Unsatisfactory. A grade of C- or better must be earned in all minor
requirements. Minor requirements can be used to meet the University distribution requirements.
