Medical Scientist Training Program
(MD/PhD)
The University of Minnesota’s Medical Scientist Training
Program (MD/PhD) combines rigorous scientific training with
world-class medical education to cultivate the complete
“physician-scientist.”
Our program is one of 45 MD/PhD programs funded by the National Institutes of Health to
develop the next generation of physician-scientist. We bring together outstanding, motivated
student-leaders and seasoned experts in the field for a training experience that is both
challenging and rewarding. As a student, you’ll gain access to unique training opportunities and
new career connections throughout the Minneapolis-St. Paul region.
Successfully pursuing this degree requires a true passion for scientific investigation and patient
care.
