NURSING PROGRAM
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates who meet the prerequisite criteria may submit applications during January 15th through
March 31st for the Fall candidate pool and July 15th through September 30th for the Spring pool.
PREREQUISITE CRITERIA
1. Completion of prerequisite courses:
Biology 3 or Biology 5 (Prerequisite for Physiology 1 or Biology 20) ............................................ 4 Units
Chemistry 51 or higher (Prerequisite for Microbiology 1 or 20) ..................................................... 5 Units

2. Overall cumulative 2.5 GPA: for all general education college courses required and applicable
to the Associate Degree in Science with a major in nursing; and a 2.5 in designated sciences,
Anatomy, Physiology and Microbiology with not more that one repeat.
3. Official documentation: Proof of United States High School Graduation or its equivalent (the
equivalency may be met by the G.E.D. test, or the California High School Proficiency
Examination); a degree from a U.S. college or university may also meet this requirement.
A completed application for the Nursing Program includes the following documents:
1. Official transcripts showing completion of prerequisite courses.
2. Official proof of U.S. High School Graduation.
3. A Nursing Prerequisite Form from the counseling department.
