INSTRUCTIONS & CONDITIONS
Please carefully read these instructions & conditions before completing the attached application form.
Introduction:
In line with NUS’ aspiration to be a global knowledge enterprise through encouraging
students to spend time in overseas colleges, the Office of Alumni Relations (OAR) is
providing 10 annual financial awards, each valued at S$1,000, to selected students
under the NUS Overseas Colleges programme.
The awards, made possible through donations from NUS alumni and its partners, are
part of OAR’s efforts to cultivate students and groom future alumni leaders.
Eligibility &
Conditions:
Students accepted under the NUS Overseas Colleges (NOC) programme may apply for
this award. This award is meant as a financial aid to needy students. Applicants of the
NUS Alumni Overseas Colleges Award must NOT be holders of NUS Alumni Student
Exchange Award or NUS Alumni Bursary Award within the same academic year. To
qualify for the award, your monthly internship stipend must be equal or less than the
below stated amounts:
NUS Colleges in Silicon Valley
NUS College in China (Shanghai and Beijing)
NUS College in Stockholm
NUS College in New York

: RMB4,000
: SEK10,000
: USD1,600
Recipients are required to complete a 5-day attachment (on an accumulated time basis)
with OAR.
Selection:
The selection process will be conducted by NOC.
Application
Process:
There is a two-step process to apply for NUS OAR Award.
Firstly, fill up this form electronically, then print and submit a hardcopy to the NOC
office. Please remember to sign and date your application.
All items in the Application Form must be completed. Please indicate "NA" for items that
are not applicable (do not use a dash or leave an item blank).
The closing date for form submission is 30 April (for July intakes) and 15 November
(for January intakes). The online form is available at the below URL:

Secondly, apply for financial aid via http://www.nus.edu.sg/oam/financialaid/financialapplication.html and submit all relevant supporting documents for processing to the
Office of Financial Aid for the academic year of the NOC programme by the closing
dates stated above.
Students who have applied for financial aid for the relevant academic year, prior to the
application of the overseas programme, do not need to submit another financial aid
application. Do note that the financial aid application is open from 1 February to 1 April
for the following academic year.
If the financial aid application period for the academic year is closed, students can still
apply by stating reason(s) for the late application. The Office of Financial Aid will
consider the application on a case-by-case basis.
Incomplete or
Incorrect
Applications:
Applications that are incomplete (where the required information, fact and/or document
is not provided or wilfully suppressed) or incorrect (where false information and/or fact is
provided) will be rejected.
