When do I use a Request to Take Courses at Another Institutions Form (RTTAC)?
Students planning to register for any course at another institution with the intent of requesting that the course be
transferred to Liberty must complete this form. Students must seek the advice of their DLP academic advisor
when preparing this request.
What are some guidelines I need to be aware of before submitting this type of request?
1. Accreditation: Only courses and degrees from regionally accredited institutions or those accredited by other
accrediting agencies recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (e.g. SACS, TRACS, AABC, etc.) will be
evaluated for transfer credit. Students may contact the Registrar's Office Transcript Accreditation Processor at
434-592-4225 if they wish to check the accreditation status of a given school.
Check accreditation status of a given school on-line at - http://ope.ed.gov/accreditation/Search.asp
2. Credit: An official transcript must be sent from the other institution directly to Liberty University. Grades of “C” or
better for undergraduate and “B” or better for Grad students will transfer. Courses earning grades of P or S will
NOT transfer. Grades that are transferred are not included in the computation of your LU grade point average.
3. Probation/Dismissal: Work at another institution cannot be used to remove your academic probation or serve as
a reason for reinstatement following a dismissal.
4. Transfer Evaluation Guidelines: Prior to completing this form consult the Transfer Evaluation Guidelines found on
the second page of the Transfer Evaluation Inquiry Request Form-DLP. It will provide you with helpful information.
http://www.liberty.edu/academics/index.cfm?PID=4849.
5. VCCS Courses: If the course is in the Virginia Community College System (VCCS) please see the VCCS Guide
online; these courses have been pre-approved (you do not need to submit a request). If the course is not found in
the VCCS guide, complete this form. http://www.liberty.edu/Media/1270/VCCS_Transfer_Guide.pdf
