Hessen International Summer University 2013
"Advancing Sustainability - Economic and Social
Dimensions from a European Perspective"
The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures offers two comprehensive scholarships
for students of German to attend the Hessen International Summer University at the Hochschule
of Fulda, Germany, from July 20 to August 17, 2013.
The Scholarship offers:



FREE room and board in Fulda
A $1000 STIPEND to be applied toward transportation
A TUITION SCHOLARSHIP for the International Summer University, which includes
o Intensive German language courses in small groups
o Lectures and seminars on culture and society, health issues, and global management;
workshops (German cooking, a choir, tango dancing, sports, theater production)
o Excursions to major German cities and cultural sites
Participation Requirements:



The Fulda Summer School scholarship is now available for both male and female students
who possess a thorough working knowledge of German and have completed at least one 300level German course by the end of the Spring semester. Delaware residents are particularly
encouraged to apply.
You must submit a SCHOLARSHIP ESSAY written in English of no more than 500 words with
your application. Please describe how this program of study will further your academic and/or
career plans.
Upon return you must submit an essay written in English describing your stay in Fulda. This
essay needs to be handed in by 5 September 2013.
