Determining Readiness for JSA Classroom Series Technical Support Team Training
JSA trainers are encouraged to use the following criteria to determine if and when a
district/client is ready for specific components of the JSA Classroom Series Technical Support
Team Training.

Classroom Continuous Improvement
 Teachers targeted as technical support team members have completed Classroom
Continuous Improvement training and have had at least nine weeks to successfully
implement the Classroom Continuous Improvement principles and practices in their
classrooms.
 Administrators, instructional/learning support coaches, facilitators and/or others
targeted as technical support team members have attended Classroom Continuous
Improvement training and understand their role in supporting classroom
implementation efforts at the ‘getting started steps’ level.
 Familiarity with the JSA Classroom Learning System Walk-through Guide and
Formative Assessment.
 Experience with the Classroom Systems Check Level I (p. 55 of CCI) as a summative
assessment of beginning classroom implementation.
Teacher and Student Partnership
 Successful completion of Classroom Continuous Improvement Technical Support Team
Training.
 Training and/or coaching experience at the ‘getting started’ level.
 Experience with the JSA Classroom Learning System Walk-through Guide and
Formative Assessment.
 Experience with the Classroom Systems Check Level II and/or III as a summative
assessment of classroom learning systems.
 Teachers targeted as technical support team members have completed Teacher &
Student Partnership training and have had at least nine weeks to successfully
implement the Teacher & Student Partnership principles and practices in their
classrooms.
 Administrators, instructional/learning support coaches, facilitators and/or others
targeted as technical support team members have attended Teacher & Student
Partnership training and understand their role in supporting classroom implementation
efforts at the ‘next steps’ level.
Classroom Performance Excellence
 Successful completion of Classroom Continuous Improvement and Teacher and Student
Partnership Technical Support Team Training.
 Training and/or coaching experience at the ‘next steps level.
 Experience with the JSA Classroom Learning System Walk-through Guide and
Formative Assessment.
 Experience with the Classroom Systems Check Level III as a summative assessment of
classroom learning systems.

‘advanced’ on all items on the Classroom  Systems Check Level III.
 Administrators, instructional/learning support coaches, facilitators and/or others
targeted as technical support team members have attended Classroom Performance
Excellence training and/or coaching and understand their role in supporting classroom
implementation efforts at the advanced level.
ACE and/or High-Yield Instructional Strategies
 Successful completion of Classroom Continuous Improvement Technical Support Team
Training.
 Training and/or coaching experience at the ‘getting started’ level.
 Experience with the JSA Classroom Learning System Walk-through Guide and
Formative Assessment.
 Experience with the Classroom Systems Check Level II and/or III as a summative
assessment of classroom learning systems.
 Teachers targeted as technical support team members have completed ACE and/or
High-Yield Instructional Strategies training and have had at least nine weeks to
successfully implement the principles and practices in their classrooms.
 Administrators, instructional/learning support coaches, facilitators and/or others
targeted as technical support team members have attended ACE and/or High-Yield
Instructional Strategies training and understand their role in supporting classroom
implementation efforts at the ‘next steps’ level.
Doing it Right: A Guide to Student Data Folders and Student-led Conferences
 Successful completion of Classroom Continuous Improvement and Teacher and Student
Partnership Technical Support Team Training.
 Training and/or coaching experience at the ‘getting started’ and ‘next steps’ levels.
 Experience with the JSA Classroom Learning System Walk-through Guide and
Formative Assessment.
 Experience with the Classroom Systems Check Level II and/or III as a summative
assessment of classroom learning systems.
 Teachers targeted as technical support team members have completed Doing it Right
training and have had at least nine weeks to successfully implement the principles and
practices in their classrooms.
 Administrators, instructional/learning support coaches, facilitators and/or others
targeted as technical support team members have attended Doing it Right training and
understand their role in supporting classroom implementation efforts at the ‘next steps’
level.
