GRADUATION INFORMATION
Graduation Honor Cords/Stoles/Cap/Gown
Students purchase their maroon cap and gown from the bookstore. Students receive their
honor cord (summa, magna, etc) from the graduation office when they file for graduation.
As a gift from the college, each of our graduates will receive a Barrett Honors College stole,
presented to them by their thesis director during our convocation. Students then wear
these stoles to all other ceremonies and keep them.
Graduation Reception
The Graduation Reception will be on the evening of Wednesday, December 17th. More
information will be available as the date approaches.

There will be a formal student and faculty recessional
No formal invitations to graduation will be sent; students can purchase invitations from
ASU Bookstores
 Thesis Directors will receive a letter from the dean regarding convocation
 Students must also speak with their thesis directors to coordinate participation in
ceremony
 A letter from the honors parents will be sent to graduates and parents for the reception
ALL GRADUATES MUST COMPLETE A “CONVOCATION FORM” BY
NOVEMBER 26TH TO INSURE CORRECT INFORMATION IS
PRINTED/READ AT THE CONVOCATION CEREMONY. FORMS ARE
AVAILABLE FROM THE BHC FRONT DESK OR BHC ADVISING.
