NOTES
Wausau West High School graduation requirements are not college admission requirements. Please read pages
10 & 11 of the Registration Handbook to become aware of general college requirements. Specific requirements
can be found in each college handbook. Please see your counselor for more information.
*Students who are excused from Physical Education for medical reasons will find it necessary to earn additional
credits to obtain the required number for graduation. A physician statement that excuses the student from
Physical Education needs to be on file in the Nurse's Office. If you have questions, please see your counselor.
**If the student does not satisfactorily complete the Junior Math Competency Test (70% of the items correct),
he/she will be required to take and successfully complete the requirements of a one-semester math course. If
the student passes the test, but has deficiencies in a specific area or areas, he/she will be required to receive
remediation and successfully complete work in those areas. High school students enrolling in the Wausau
School District as seniors will be required to take the Junior Math Competency Test.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: By meeting these minimum graduation requirements without taking additional rigorous courses,
you may be unprepared for future jobs, education, or military opportunities. Our recommendation is that each student
attempt the most rigorous selection of courses, based on their future goals, which they can successfully manage.
