School Reports are being sent home today. A reply slip is enclosed with them for
you to acknowledge receipt and make comments. Please return you reply slip on
Monday in the bag.
PTA BINGO Night
Tonight is PTA BINGO Night in the school hall at 6.30pm. The evening is open to
all, pupils, parents, villagers etc. It will cost £1 per person, there will be 3 games,
with 6 small prizes available for the 1st full line and 1st Full House. Tea and
Coffee will be for sale during the event. We do hope you will come!
QES Work Experience Student
Daniel Whiteley, a year 10 pupil from Queen Elizabeth School in Kirkby Lonsdale
will be spending next week in our school. We are sure everyone will make him very
welcome and we hope he enjoys his week with us.
Infant Forest School Visit
The infants are going on their final Forest School Trip for this year on Monday
8th July; they will be visiting the wooded area in Gressingham again. They will all
need a packed lunch and drink, all disposable items please and appropriate outdoor
clothing for the weather! If they have waterproof trousers please send them
with them, as the ground could be damp. An information sheet giving further
details is included in their Friday Bags today.
After School Multi-Sports Club
Monday 8th July will be the final session this year for the popular multi-sports
club held after school. We hope to offer this again in September and will update
you at the beginning of next term.
Sports Day
We all have our fingers crossed for good weather on Tuesday 9th July so that
sports day can go ahead as planned at 1.15pm. It will take place on the school
field and all parents are encouraged to come along and participate! If your child
has a t-shirt in the colour of their house please could they bring it to wear, there
will be coloured bands available for anyone who needs them.
LEAP Cookery Event -pto
Two year 6 boys have been invited to take part in a Cookery Event at Wennington
Hall School on Thursday 11th July. An information sheet is in the Friday bag for
these two boys.
End of Year Trip to Windermere
On Monday 15th July the whole school is going on a trip to Windermere. Any
parent who has not yet returned their permission slip together with their
contribution, please could you do so by Monday 8th July. An information sheet with
further details will be in the bag next week, but please note all pupils will require
a packed lunch on this day.
Parental Questionnaire
The Curriculum & Communications Committee have now analysed the completed
Parental Questionnaires. A letter regarding this is enclosed in the bag today and
a summary of the findings is available on the school website (address at the top
of newsletter).
Sainsbury’s Active Kids Vouchers
We collected a fantastic 5753 vouchers which we are now exchanging for a
variety of cookery items, some waterproof jackets and some playground toys! A
big thank you to all parents and friends who helped us reach this total.
School Meals
Cookie is planning a special menu for the last week of term, including party food
on the Thursday. Pupils will only be in school for lunch on Tuesday, Wednesday
and Thursday; details of the menu will be in next week’s newsletter.
There will be a 10p increase in the price of each school meal in September, they
will cost £2.20/ per meal and £11 for full week. This still represents good value
and remains cheaper than surrounding counties.
St Margaret’s Festival 500 Years
As part of the festival celebrating 500years of St Margaret’s Church Tower,
pupils have been invited to make a model of the church tower. Models need to be
in school by Monday 15th July and will be displayed in the church during the
festival
