1. SCHOOL CLOSING – REMINDER.
Summer Holidays
: School closes on Friday 26th. June at 12.00 o'clock.
School re-opens on Tuesday 1st. September for Senior Infants  6th. class
and Wednesday 2nd. September for Junior Infants.
2. MR. RYAN’S RETURN.
Our school Principal Mr. Paul Ryan will return to work next week. We will be delighted to welcome
Mr. Ryan back and wish him all the very best in the coming weeks and months.
3. CELBRIDGE TIDY TOWNS.
To assist in the much valued work carried out by a local group of volunteers, a non-uniform day will
be held this Friday 12th. June for Celbridge Tidy Towns. A voluntary contribution of €2 per family
would be most appreciated in support of the tremendous work they carry out.
4. PARENTS’ ASSOCIATION QUIZOKI NIGHT.
Many thanks to all who attended the Quizoki Night last Saturday in Celbridge GAA Club. A very
enjoyable night was had by all. Congratulations and well done to Louise Allen and the team of
parents who organised the event. Our pupils will greatly benefit from the proceeds of the night.
5. SPORTS DAYS.
The Annual Sports Days will take place next week - Monday June 15th. to Thursday 18th. June
(weather permitting).
Monday 15th. June
-> 5th. and 6th. classes beginning at 9.30a.m.
Tuesday 16th. June
-> 3rd. and 4th. classes beginning at 9.30a.m.

Wednesday 17 June -> 1st. class beginning at 9.30a.m.
Wednesday 17th. June -> 2nd. class beginning at 11.00 a.m.
Thursday 18th. June
-> Junior Infants beginning at 9.30a.m.
Thursday 18th. June
-> Senior Infants beginning at 11.00a.m.
Parents are welcome to come and view the track events for the Junior Infants, Senior Infants,
1st and 2nd. classes at the times listed above. These events will take place in the field beside the
school.
 Please note: in the event of rain in the morning every effort will be made to run the sports at
12.30p.m.
 Children from 3rd. to 6th. classes will take part in a variety of different sports in a non-competitive
format e.g. soccer, basketball, unihoc, rounders etc.
 All children go home at usual times on Sports Days.
6. SCHOOL CHARGES - REMINDER.
Our book order for next year has now been finalised. If you have not ordered your child’s books
through the school, please purchase the books in any of the local bookshops or online in advance of
your child’s return to school. Please forward your school charges and money for rental books to the
class teacher.
7. SCHOOL REPORTS.
You will receive your child’s end of year school report during the week commencing Monday June
15th. Standardised test results in English and Maths will be included in the report. An information
leaflet explaining what standardised tests are, how results can be interpreted and how they can help
your child’s learning will issue to each family with the school report.

8. PARENTS PLUS PROGRAMME.
The Parents Plus Programme is a practical and positive course for parents of children aged 6-11 years.
The six week course will commence on Wednesday 2nd. September 2015 from 10.30a.m – 12.30p.m.
in Leixlip Library. The course is being hosted by trained facilitators from the HSE and The Child
and Family Agency. For more details and an application form, please go to the home page of the

9. SPORTS.
- Boys GAA: Congratulations to our U10 Boys football team who won their division of the Cumann
na mBunscol championship. Many thanks to Mr. Ciarán Costello and Ms. Sinéad Martin who
trained the team. Our gratitude also to former Roscommon All Star and Aussie Rules footballer Paul
Earley who presented medals to the boys in the school last Wednesday.
- Santry Sports: Congratulations to all our athletes who performed so well in the Santry Sports. Our
U14 Girls relay team of Katie White, Hannah Aspell, Eva Farrelly, Rebecca Keating and Jorúne
Sveikauskaite took home the bronze medal while our U11 Girls relay team of Ann-Marie
Iseghohimen, Méabh Gannon, Órla Carragher, Ria Kelly and Maidie Bengo came 5th overall.
Katie White came 3rd in the 100m. Sprint with Ava Campion and Ria Kelly finishing closely behind.
Many thanks to Ms. Jenny Corr and Ms. Erika Browne for all their work during the year to
prepare the athletes for Santry.

SIXTH CLASS GRADUATION.
 The Sixth Class Graduation Ceremony will take place on Wednesday 24th. June at 7.30p.m.
Pupils and their parents only are invited to attend. Further details later.
 Please note that children are not permitted under any circumstances to get autographs on their
school uniform or tracksuit. The children will receive an autograph book during the last week of
school.
11. FAMILIES LEAVING THE SCHOOL.
If your child/children intend to leave Scoil Mochua at the end of June, please inform the Principal or
the Secretary in writing as soon as possible, as there are children on the Waiting List for many
classes.
REMINDER.

School uniform must be worn every day. Tracksuit is for PE days only.
