MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE PLANNING COMMITTEE HELD ON WEDNESDAY 9 TH
MARCH 2011 IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBER, SIMPSON CENTRE, STOTFOLD AT 7.00PM

6192. APOLOGIES
Apologies for absence were received on behalf of Councillors Mrs Lewin, Smith and Mrs
Turner.
6193. DISCLOSURE OF MEMBERS INTERESTS
There were no disclosures of interests at this point. Members were reminded that if at any time
during the meting they feel they have an interest in an item being discussed, they should declare
it at that point.
6194. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION – QUESTIONS, COMMENTS AND RESPONSES
There were no questions from the public.
MATTERS ARISING
6195. Councillor Training – Planning Workshops (see minute 6187-23/02/11)
Councillor Mrs Cooper will be attending the training session on 15th March and will attend the
following workshops:
Planning Obligations, S106 and the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL)
Planning Enforcement – dealing with unauthorised development
Neighbourhood Plans – delivering on Localism
CORRESPONDENCE
6196. Town & Country Planning Act 1990 – Appeal by Mr D Chellew – DT Chellew & Sons Ltd
Site at 73a High Street, Stotfold, SG5 4LD – demolition of existing industrial buildings and
construction of 2 one bedroom OAP retirement bungalows with car parking and
manageable gardens
Notification has been received of the Planning Inspector’s decision on the above appeal (two
parts), as follows:

based on appeal reasons above, Mr Chellew has made an application for
full award of costs against Central Bedfordshire Council
Allowed the application in part and grant a partial award of costs in terms
set out in reasons provided for Committee Members, and available on file
6197. Land South of Stotfold – Parcel 3 – CB/10/04593/RM
Correspondence has been received from the Planning Officer asking for confirmation that the
Council will remove their objection to the above planning application on the basis that there will
not be 2.5 storey housing adjacent to the existing residential properties, and that there will be a
TRO (yellow lines) on Brook Street.
Due consideration and discussion took place, and it was:
Resolved that the Planning Officer is advised that we will remove our objection
to the above application, on the basis detailed above, provided that we have
assurances that there will be no parking permitted in front of the Parcel 3
properties which front Brook Street, and that their dedicated parking will be
within the development.
6198. DECISION NOTICES
Members were previously circulated the list of Planning Decision Notices recently received, and
it was:
Resolved that the Planning Decision Notices as listed and forming part of these
Minutes be noted.
6199. PLANNING APPLICATIONS
Councillors Cooper and Mrs Cooper declared an interest in application CB/11/00520/FULL – 17
Coppice Mead – Construction of brick chimney to right hand side of property, as they live
opposite.
Members considered the planning applications before them and it was:
Resolved that the comments made on the planning applications as listed and
forming part of these minutes be forwarded to Central Bedfordshire Council
Planning Department.
6200. ATTENDANCE AT CENTRAL BEDS DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT MEETING
Resolved that it is not necessary for a representative of this Committee to attend
the Development Management Committee Meeting at Central Bedfordshire
Council on behalf of the Town Council.
