Junior Achievement Sparks Student Success
JA impacted over 4.6 million U.S. students in more than 200,000 classrooms during 2014-2015.
Our volunteer-delivered, kindergarten-12th grade programs foster work-readiness,
entrepreneurship and financial literacy skills, and use experiential learning to inspire students to
dream big and reach their potential. With the help of more than 218,000 volunteers, JA students
develop the skills they need to experience the realities and opportunities of work and
entrepreneurship in the 21st-century global marketplace.

TESTIMONIALS
“"Junior Achievement inspires me to go to school…
The better degree you get the more jobs that are open to
you."”
Sarah — 7th Grade, High Horizons, Bridgeport, CT
“"We have a genuine interest in who they are becoming,
not just what they can do for grades."”
Carl Bodnar — Educator, Masuk High School, Monroe, CT
“"Junior Achievement teaches our young people how to be
successful
in today's world so everyone, Bridgeport children
included, can benefit from the
great things Fairfield County and specifically our region
has to offer."”
Tom Santa — President and CEO, Santa Energy Corporation
“"As superintendent responsible for programing, I will
seek a continuous partnership
with JA and continue to reach out and ask businesses to
come in and
help us prepare our kids for the future."”
Freeman Burr — Superintendent of Shelton Public Schools
“"I learned how to budget my money and how to save for
college and the things that really
count in life. No bank or store is going to lend us money
because we are so cute or smart…
I can use what I learned in JA right now and for the rest of
my life."”
Ty'Quess — 8th Grade, Curiale School, Bridgeport, CT
“"The kids are learning fundamental financial skills that
will be with them
throughout their lives. I am so proud to be a part of this
exciting program,
sparking entrepreneurial interest in children as young as 8
years old!"”
Sandra Capellaro — GE Capital, Volunteer for 7 years
“"I am the kids that are sitting in the classroom… I grew
up in Bridgeport,
I am those kids. I find that to be a regular guy (and) say I
was sitting in your chair 30 years ago,
that resonates with them. The most important thing you
give the students is you!"”
Brian Cook — People's United Bank, Volunteer for 9 Years
“"Preparing young people for business by teaching basic
financial life skills and connecting
education to the workplace makes me proud that we can
give back and be part
of an organization like JA that makes such a positive
difference for our children."”
Cosmo Alberico — COO and CFO Odyssey Logistics & Technology
“"JA provides experience and knowledge that you can't
get out of a textbook.
As in the real world, students work together as a team in
order to accomplish their goals."”
Ken Roberts — Griffin Hospital, Teaches JA Titan Program
