KILDARE COUNTY COUNCIL
MINUTES OF MONTHLY MEETING HELD ON MONDAY 27TH
MAY, 2002 AT 6.00 P.M. IN THE GREYHOUND TRACK,
MILLTOWN ROAD, NEWBRIDGE, CO. KILDARE
Members Present: Councillor John O’Neill (Cathaoirleach), T. Conway, G. Conway,
F. Dukes, M. Fitzpatrick, M. Glennon, S. Griffin, R. Hendy, P. Kelly, B. Hillis, J.
Keane, P. Kelly, A. Lawlor, T. McEvoy, J. McGinley, M. Miley, C. Murphy, S. Ó
Fearghaíl, F. O Loughlin, S. Power, J. Reilly, P.J. Sheridan, E. Stagg, J. Wall, K. Walsh
and G. Conway.
Also Present: Mr. N. Bradley (County Manager), Mr. T. Skehan, Director of Planning
& Public Safety, Mr. John Lahart, Director of Housing & Sanitary Services, Mr. Peter
Minnock, Director of Corporate and Cultural Affairs, Mr. Jimmy Lynch, Director of
Transportation and Environment, Mr. Eamon O’Sullivan, Head of Finance and other
officials.
------------------------------------------------The Cathaoirleach welcomed the members to the Greyhound Track in Newbridge, and
he thanked the management and staff of the track for facility the meeting.
The Cathaoirleach proposed that the meeting be adjourned as a mark of respect to the
late Willie Carroll, Director of Community & Enterprise. This was seconded by
Councillor Reilly and agreed unanimously by the members.
The Council on the proposal of the Cathaoirleach, resolved to extend a vote of
sympathy to Mr. Carroll’s family The members joined in the vote of sympathy and
individually spoke about their own memories of Mr. Carroll both personally and in a
working capacity.
The County Manager associated himself with the vote of sympathy on his own behalf
and on behalf of the staff and paid tribute to Mr. Carroll’s qualities as an industrious,
diligent and capable person.
