Welcome Introductions

Introduced everyone and went over grade level assignments.
Transition Committee




Rachael, Lisa, Katrina, and Cindy.
Leadership roles for Room Parent Program.
Committee worked through the summer.
Created our wonderful room parent t-shirts.
Committees


Halloween, Breakfast with Santa/Craft Fair, Staff Appreciation, Retreat,
Fundraising, Childcare, and Special Events.
Everyone signed up for committees.
Website


Lisa will be updating the room parent section on the school’s website. She will be
posting the room parents’ pictures and assignments, along with our contact
information.
Please send her the meeting minutes.
Budget/Account


$2,000 in account.
A portion of money will go into account after Clubs Choice fundraiser closes.
Halloween Dance





Friday, 10/25/13, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Volunteers needed.
Food, craft, story-telling, and possible game.
Entry fee and/or food donation.
Committee met to discuss plans.
Retreat




2 nights/3 days in February or March.
Leadership focus with teambuilding exercises.
Celebrating woman energy.
Committee met to discuss plans.
Food Preparation




Everyone signed up to prepare a meal for our meetings.
Have meal ready by 5:30 p.m. for 25/30 people.
$125.00 budget per meal.
December will be pot luck.
Parent/Guardian Contact Information and Welcome Letters


Cindy handed out grade level contact sheets.
Lisa/Angie sent out a welcome letter for K5 with a portion to return with contact
information, and has been receiving good responses.
Parent/Teacher Conferences


10/10/13 and 10/11/13
Room parents can be available in and around their assigned grade levels during
parent/teacher conferences.
T-Shirts




Everyone loves them!
On back of t-shirt, Room Parent in red, Teacher in yellow, or Elder/Volunteer
(Community) in white.
Fundraiser in the future to sell these.
Additional orders will be put together if interested in ordering t-shirts/sweatshirts.
