The softball season
Where we train
We are affiliated with and compete in the
‘Adelaide Competition’ of Softball SA. The
season commences in October and concludes in
March/April, with a break over the late
December/early January holiday period.
All players are expected to attend training and to
notify their coach if they cannot attend a training
session.
We train at Waite Oval, cnr Fullarton Road and
Claremont Avenue Netherby. Pre-season training for
all grades is on Sundays from 10.00 am until 12 noon.
Once the season commences all grades will train on
Tuesdays from 5pm. Teams will be advised of their
training time.

in a higher junior grade or a senior grade. Juniors

Carnivals & State representation
Sturt enters teams in the October long weekend junior
carnival which is held at West Beach. The Senior State
Championships are held in January at West Beach
and Junior State Championships are held in February
(usually in a different SA region each year). Sturt
enters teams in both of the junior tournaments. The
Waverley Easter Carnival (Victoria) is also a regular
event for Sturt junior teams.
We encourage our players to attend State team trials.
Information about these carnivals and trials is
circulated throughout the season.
Team roles
For every team we register we must also have a
coach, a team manager, a scorer and an umpire.
These positions are filled by volunteers (players,
parents, supporters) who are able to provide the
required time and energy commitment to these roles.
Express your interest in any of these roles on
Registration Day.
Sponsorship
Refer to our website for sponsorship packages.
Social
Sturt does not have Clubrooms but we still have an
active social calendar. This usually includes activities
such as a Quiz Night held early in the season, a mid
season Club Day at West Beach and an end of
season Presentation Dinner that all Club members and
friends are encouraged to attend.
