Dear Parent/Carer
Next half term, Year 6 are starting a new and exciting topic called ‘Evolution Revolution’. As a
stunning starter to this topic, Winchester Science Centre will be visiting the school to deliver an
Evolution and Adaptation workshop. During this practical workshop your child will handle fossils,
discover the role adaption and variation plays in evolution as well as create their own creature.
This wonderful opportunity should really excite your child about their new topic.
The Workshop is planned for Tuesday 3rd November 2015.
To help cover the cost of the Winchester Science Centres’ visit we are requesting a voluntary
contribution of £3.00.
Our preferred payment method is Tucasi, where payment can be made securely by credit/debit
card via the Tucasi website at www.scopay.com/freegrounds-jun. Alternatively payment can be
made by cheque (cheques made payable to H.C.C.) or cash and must be enclosed with the
permission slip in a named envelope via the registration box in class by Monday 19th October
2015.

attached letter.

Parents/Guardians do not have to pay for any school trip and NO children will be discriminated
against if parents do not pay the full cost of the trip. It should be noted however that unless
significant contributions are received the trip itself may be cancelled due to insufficient
funding.
