Falls, Parkinson’s Disease, Ageing Process
Day 1: Report to Elderly Medicine Therapy
between wards 305 and 306 for 8:30am.
Uniform: Tunic or polo shirt, blue trousers and
appropriate footwear.
Joint office for Occupational Therapy and
Physiotherapy teams working on the elderly
medicine wards.
The team cover a number of elderly medicine
wards through the hospital, providing timely
assessment and discharge planning for individual
patients.
Falls, Parkinson’s Disease, Urinary Tract
Infections, Chest Infections.
The team have regular in service training
sessions that a student would be able to attend.
Experience of working in an MDT.
Joint assessments and treatment session
alongside Occupational Therapy.
Regular feedback on own performance.
Working hours are 8:30 – 4:30.

General Information
Lunch arrangements
There is a fridge and microwave available for use
for lunch.
In addition there is a large restaurant, League of
Friends shops, and a ‘Marks & Spencer Food
outlet, Costa Coffee shop and Boots located at
the Front Entrance of the main hospital, with a
cash machine.
Changing facilities/Uniform
We expect all students to change into their
uniform once on-site in the changing facilities
provided.
We expect all students to wear regulation
uniforms which would include;
 Navy blue trousers
 Navy blue or black socks
 Black flat shoes (not open-toed) or white
trainers
 White tunic (worn with shirt and tie
underneath for male students)
 Or white polo-shirt
 Hair should be up off the collar, nails
unpolished and clipped short, make up at
a minimum and one pair of stud earrings
and a wedding band the only jewellery
worn.
Travel
Parking facilities are very limited with most staff
having to park off-site.
