Note 2
Free School Meals – School Budget - Important
We have received notice of how our budget will be affected if John O’Dowd changes the method of
determining the budget for each individual school, which he plans to do. The vast majority of schools will lose
out while a few will gain massively. We stand to lose £10,897 annually while some schools will gain £160,000
annually. This is a serious loss to us considering that we are currently the lowest funded school per pupil head
in WELB area.
One of the factors used to determine the budget is the number of children ENTITLED to free school meals in a
school. Your child does not have to consume a meal but we would ask all parents, who are entitled to free
meals, to apply whether or not your child takes the meal. Check the information below and if you feel you are
entitled to free meals please contact the school in the first instance. See back of this note for more details.
Extra Curricular Activities
Please check times, venues and dates for the extra curricular activities listed below and inform whoever is
collecting your child. It will help to keep telephone calls to the school to a minimum All parents are advised
that children must be collected on time. Choir practice will start on Tuesday 15th October. Note change of day
