Year 6 Homework due in on Tuesday 14th October 2014
Literacy Homework
This week we have been learning about newspaper reports. You homework is to have a go at writing a
newspaper report about an event at Holymead School. It could be an unexpected meteor crashing into the
school building, or something else of your choice. Remember, it is a NEWSPAPER report – not a TV report!
It should include:

An introduction showing the 5 ws (who, what where, when and why)

An eye witness account (first person)

Include time connectives (next, after that, soon after, meanwhile…)

An expert opinion explaining why it happened at the end of the report
Have fun with your report! You could have eye witness accounts from teachers/ pupils at the
school!
