Attendance
The attendance certificate this week was awarded to Y1 who had 99.4%, and it was pleasing to see that 3 classes managed to
get their attendance back up to over 99% - keep it up 
Parents’ Evenings
Parents’ evenings are being held on 19th and 20th October. The online booking system is now open for you to book a slot with
your child’s teacher. The website is https://greatfieldpark.parentseveningsystem.co.uk/ and there is also a link to the booking
system from our school website.
School Funding Petition
At parents’ evening there will be petition available to sign to help campaign for fair funding for schools. The national budget
for education is shared out on a basis that is lost in history and is manifestly unfair. Gloucestershire is one of the 40 lowest
funded local authorities and Gloucestershire schools and academies suffer as a consequence. Please take the time to sign the
petition as we are keen to press home this message to the government.
GPA Needs You!
We are looking for new members to join the Greatfield Parents Association, if you are new to the school community this is a
great way to get involved and meet new people. The GPA meets monthly to discuss and organise fundraising for the school.
Because of their work we able to fund whole school trips to the pantomime, new equipment for the classrooms and
playground, and so much more. We also get to enjoy great events such as Family Quiz, the Christmas Disco, Summer Fair and
Party in The Park. The next meeting is on 10th November at 7pm so please speak to Mrs Kydd if you’re interested in coming
along.
It’s been another action packed week this week with 5 classes visiting the Cheltenham Literature festival, meeting a variety of
authors and story tellers. I am pleased to report that a number of the organisers and members of the public commented on the
excellent behaviour of our children, and I am very proud of them for being such good ambassadors for Greatfield Park.
We also held our first Open Day, and Y6 did an outstanding job of being tour guides, showing great politeness and maturity.
Well done everyone!!
Kind regards, Mrs Gemma Kydd (Acting Headteacher)
